Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Program
The Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Program is a facilitated group review session for select academically-rigorous courses here at the U. What can you expect from attending the PAL sessions? Students tell us that they learned more in the class and earned higher grades. It helps to get the most out of time spent studying for the class and the exams. It is also a great way to meet other students who are serious about their academic work. Each PAL session is guided by an experienced student working from the course syllabus and in collaboration with the course instructor. These PAL sessions are held each week throughout the academic term.
There is no charge for attendance at PAL sessions. However, you need to register for them if they are not already part of a class you are enrolled in (Example: Math 1031 and 1051 have PAL built in, and some CFANS students have PAL as part of their orientation to the major course in the fall). There is only room for the first 35 students to register in each PAL section, though we will maintain a waitlist and move people up if students with a reserved seat fail to attend.
The PAL program is supported by your student fees. Get your money's worth and take advantage of this service that you and others have paid for!
